Welder approval or Welder Approval Test Certificate (QS).
Received before Bachelor (since this term originates from USA) or Qualif or QS, this is truly the authorisation to weld.
This does not mean that the person knows how to weld using all the processes or in all the positions and all the assemblies.
The welder approval is valid for 2 years and can be tacitly renewed under some conditions.
This is an indispensable step when working on some fabrications or assemblies (pressure apparatus, Gas conduit, Aeronautics, etc.).
A welder who has a CQPM but not QS may not have the "right" to weld some parts under fabrication.
