CQPM means Certificat de Qualification Paritaire de la Métallurgie (Joint qualification certificate in the metallurgy industry).
Validation through CQPM is complete validation for a welder.
Having a CQPM for a welder (for example: Industrial Welder CQPM), means mastering several processes (MIG, ARC, TIG) in several positions. But this also means knowing how to read a drawing, knowing and understanding the theoretical operation of several welding processes, knowing how to work in full safety.
This validation is given at the end of an examination with practical and theoretical tests that are conducted over several days. Marks are assigned to the theoretical part and to the practical part, with a minimum mark requirement to pass the examination.
It is the branch recognition that defines an acquired skill level, much more than welder approval since this recognition is acquired for life.
